Guidelines 2010

  • All works submitted must be the work of the entrant.
  • Entrants must either live or work within either the City of Sydney or the Leichhardt Council area, and must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Each entrant may enter a maximum of two works, with a maximum of one work per entrant in any given category.
  • All works submitted must fall within one of the following broad categories: painting; drawing; printmaking; photography.
  • All works submitted should be recent.
  • All works submitted must be able to be hung on a wall, and should not exceed one square metre, including mount and frame. Please do not submit excessively heavy works.
  • Prints and drawings must be properly mounted and framed. Paintings must be ready for hanging (with or without a frame), with D rings 10 cm from the top. Works that comprise more than one piece (e.g. diptychs, triptychs, etc.) should be joined together as one item to facilitate hanging.
Note: Glebe Picture Frames at 168 St Johns Road offers a 25% discount on framing of works to be hung in the Glebe Art Show.
  • Each work must be clearly marked with the entrant’s name, contact address and telephone number; the title and price of the work; and the category entered.
  • An entry fee of $20 applies to each entrant’s first entry, with an additional fee of $15 for any second entry. Entry fees must be paid on submission of works, and are not refundable. These proceeds will be used to cover the costs of holding the exhibition.
  • All works submitted must be made available for sale.
  • A commission of 33.3% will be retained on each sale. These proceeds will be used to promote the visual arts in the Glebe area.
  • This is a non-selective show. However, space is limited. Works will be hung in Benledi and in the Library, as space permits. Decisions on the placement of works will be made by our curatorial panel, with equal respect for all artists who have contributed work. These decisions will be final.
  • Insurance, if desired, is the responsibility of the entrant, although reasonable care will be taken to ensure the safety of the works while on the premises.
  • All works submitted must be delivered and collected within the times stipulated on the entry form. A non-collection charge of $5.00 per day applies.
  • The judges’ decisions regarding the awarding of prizes will be final.
  • The Glebe Art Show reserves the right to take photographs of works submitted and to use these for promotional purposes.
