Starting with an intentionally basic brief: Memory + colour + tactility, I let the design shape itself through my hands, telling myself I was free to add or subtract without regret. This work grew from my limited recollections fused with my father’s love of his childhood haunts. Our now complicated relationship, remembered through the same bushscrub we both scrambled through as children. 

 

Stenocarpus sinuatus, known as the firewheel tree, is an Australian rainforest tree found in forests along the Nambucca River (30° S) in New South Wales.
