Grania creates aerial landscapes in kiln fired glass, a medium that is both strong and fragile, reminiscent of planet earth. Taking a birds eye view of where are in the world, encourages the viewer to have a broader and deeper understanding of how we impact the land upon which we live.

"Sydney Harbour 1890's" is made up of four small blue glass tiles, representing the waterways. Fused on top is a composition of green and brown particles of fine and medium glass known as frit. The frit shows trees and rocks and even Cockatoo Island. The tiles are then raised gently on top of sand, locally sourced from Callan Park.

Sydney Harbour has changed. Looking beyond ourselves to a bigger picture, let us make sure our footprint is small and considered.
