I lived in Balmain for 21 years, in my time there the character of the neighbourhood changed as it became more gentrified, but somehow it still retained it's historic character. When I started my plein air study for this painting (from Ballast Point Park) I was struck by how much the city skyline had changed from when I first started living there in 1994 . The old vs New.
