Vestiges destabilises the concept of an idyllic pastoral landscape by intimating the underlying ongoing colonial impact of a constantly modified Australian environment. Problematising the idea of nature it raises the question of how art could assist decolonisation, reconciliation and climate justice. As the child of both a migrant and a fourth generation settler my own identity is bound up in the need to come to terms with the past and its morphological traces on the land and its people.
