Information for Entrants

 

The Glebe Art Show is held annually, typically in October at The Tramsheds, 1 Dalgal Way, Forest Lodge, and sales are also online via our website.  Key dates will be posted on our website, and also Instagram and Facebook pages once dates are confirmed. Entries are online and open approximately 6 weeks prior to the opening of the Show. Contact Us to join our mailing list and be kept up to date on Show news and other events.     

 

These requirements are subject to review and possible change before each Show. Requirements will be confirmed on this page when the next Show dates are announced. If you have any questions about our requirements or entry process. please send us a message through the Contact Us page.

Entry Requirements

  • Entries must meet all the following requirements to be accepted. The $30 entry fee will not be refunded for any entries that do not meet all requirements.

  • To be eligible for entry, artists must currently reside, work or study within Glebe, or within the City of Sydney or Inner West Council boundaries. Entrants are required to provide address details. Entry fees will not be refunded to 'out of area' entries.

  • Artists must be 18 years or over. Artists may be asked to show proof of age.

  • One work in total per entrant is allowed. Entry is online. If you need assistance with submitting your entry online, or have any questions regarding the entry guidelines, send us a message using the Contact Us tab on the website and we will be in touch. 

  • Work must fall into one of these categories :

- Works on Canvas/Board

- Works on Paper

- Photography

- Textiles (Wall mounted and framed)

  • Photographs entered must have been entirely captured with a camera (digital, film or phone camera). Images created by Artificial Intelligence (AI) using image-creation programs and/or edited using generative AI may not be entered. The Glebe Art Show reserves the right to disqualify an image if the photographic integrity of a submitted entry cannot be adequately verified.  Any post-production and editing must be the work of the entrant.​

  • Works must have been created in the last 12 months.

  • All works submitted must be suitable to hang on a wall and paintings must be dry and ready for display. Maximum size limits are 100cm x100cm and 10cm in depth including mount and frame, and a maximum weight of 15kg. Works that exceed these limits cannot be accepted.

  • Prints, drawings, and photographs and textiles must be properly framed. All artworks must be ready to hang with D rings, which can be purchased from art shops or framing shops. If your work is professionally framed, please advise your framer of these requirements.

  • Please ensure your D rings are:

    • The appropriate size and weight for the artwork, one on each side of the artwork.

    • A curved-style D ring (not a triangle) measuring a maximum of 1.5cm across the base (see examples below) and attached approximately 5cm from the top of the artwork, with the curve upward

  • Works that comprise more than one piece (e.g., diptychs, triptychs) must be joined as one work, and the total size must not exceed the maximum size limit of 100cm on any side.

  • Artwork subjects must not be offensive in nature.

  • If artwork is framed the frame must be included in the price and size.

  • You must submit a photo of your artwork. This will appear on our website, so please make sure to submit the best quality image you can. Images should be PNG or JPG with a minimum size of 1200px on their shortest side and maximum 15MB. Copyright of this photograph remains property of the artist, however the artist agrees that supplied images of the work and/or photographs taken by the Society of the work may be digitally reproduced for use on the Society's website and social media channels, promotional posters/flyers, or external media sources, for the purpose of promoting the Show. The Society will credit the artist.

  • There is a $30 entry fee, not refundable. No changes to works, titles, or pricing are permitted after entry.

  • All works submitted must be for sale. 25% commission will be retained on each sale. Proceeds are used to fund the art events of the Glebe Art Society.

  • One-off works cannot for the duration of the Show be simultaneously for sale on any other website or at any other show or gallery.

  • This is a non-selective show. Decisions on the placement of the artworks will be made by our curatorial panel. No further communication will be entered into regarding this.

  • The judges’ decisions regarding the awarding of prizes are final.

  • All prizes are non-acquisitive.

  • Insurance is the responsibility of the entrant. All reasonable care will be taken to ensure the safety of the works while on the premises.

  • All works submitted must be delivered and collected within the times stipulated.
