Jacqui Tosi is an abstract painter based in the Inner West. Her creative process is experimental, spontaneous, and instinctive. She's inspired by the interaction of natural forces that shape the world, bringing disparate elements together in moments of wonder and delight - like sparkling light reflecting off water, tonal textured strips of bark, rusty corrugated iron, and lively tidal rockpools. Her work is a reflection on the rhythms of the world and her affinity with place. Rather than illustrating specific places, Jacqui works from memories and impressions. Through layering colours and textures, she explores how things fall into place.
