This image captures a hotel swimming pool in Hoi An, Vietnam. I find the study of landscape and people intriguing. I had noticed a couple unfamiliar to each other (and keeping some distance) in very animated conversation. It was to either become a party or ultimately a parting.
When I travel I capture my ideas en plein air with my iPad, very much in the same way as David Hockey.  This one I doodled by the poolside (a time lapse is available on my Instagram page) and then took the sketch into the studio upon my return home to bring it to life with a canvas and oil paints.
