This painting captures three friends going for a morning swim in a dam, the water is ice cold but very refreshing! This was the first painting I did after a week long residency at a property named 'Candlebark', in the Snowy Mountains of NSW. The area was full of huge Candlebark trees, ancient granite boulders and pristine bushland so plenty of inspiration! The quick, loose brushstrokes throughout this work are just part of my joy and enthusiasm to paint this on my return to the studio.
