I painted this from a photo I took during our last lockdown in Glebe. It was sad to see this lively
icon of Glebe closed - its pavement clear of patrons dining out the front and empty interior.
Badde Manors is one of the places which, to me, encapsulates the spirit of Glebe in its heyday.
As a young woman in the '80's, I drank its aromatic chai and chowed down on rich tiramisu,
enjoying the company of friends and the eclectic surrounding.
As an older woman, I enjoy nostalgic trips but am happy to remain in the present and hope
that Badde Manors continues to grace Glebe for a long time yet.
