Boom Box Bento is one of a series of works created for a recent group show LOUD! by GAS SYD. The series fuses food and audio equipment, inspired by synaesthesia - specifically when people can taste sound. Full disclaimer, I don't suffer from it, but I hope, for those that do, it isn't suffering! I hope your hip-hop tastes like hamburgers and your disco tastes like biscuits! Bravo Domino is an abstract artist from Sydney - Australian born of Filipino and Irish descent. Strongly influenced by street art, neo-expressionism, and contemporary abstract art. A singer in a past life, so lyrics and poetry tend to feature regularly in her pieces. Photographing details of her paintings, Bravo creates digital patterns for graphic and surface design, playing with colours and contrast, and drawing out the analogue textures from the original painting. Career highlights include collaborating with Melbourne-based charity Soxy Beast on a number of sock designs. She was a finalist in the 2025 Palette Project Art Prize at Gallery Alchemy, and a grand finalist in the Art Battle Sydney City finals last year. Her work has been a part of group shows at Tyger Gallery, as well as in Sydney and Melbourne.
