Lake Oberon is a glacial lake in the rugged Western Arthur Mountains of Tasmania. I first visited Tasmania in 1979. We spent a week hiking through the Western Arthurs. We camped overnight on a level clearing on the far shore of the lake. During Covid I began sorting and scanning my old photos and was inspired to paint Lake Oberon. I did this painting with permission, from a photo taken by Viktor Posnov, published in the hikinglife.com by Cam Hogan.
