Inspired by the cityscape environment where structure, rhythm and human presence offer an exciting energy.  
I am drawn to the freedom and immediacy of working en plein air in my sketchbook.  This process is intuitive and responsive, and guided by feelings I capture the essence of place.   Back in my One +2 Studio I transform these impressions into expressive mark-making and layered abstraction using sticks, ink, charcoal, collage and pastel.
