This work is taken from a photo of a farm on the road to Paris. The storm cloud, afternoon sun and fields were stunning and I kept going back to the image until I decided to paint it. The darkening sky and foregrounded fields balanced the painting with the strip of buildings lit by sun highlighting the distance from the road.
