Artist Statement
This is a photo of a flooded public path after rain, when you can smell the rain in the air (petrichor). I like taking photos that remind you of something else, perhaps a painting or a line drawing, another time -- or, in this case, another sense. I am firmly grounded in the inner west and my photos often feature some of the distinctive architectural details of the area, e.g., railings, windows, roof lines. Reflections, shadows, colours, shapes and patterns -- in both nature and the built form -- are what usually grab my attention.
