This image is an interpretative way of photographing the Wattle Flower. I placed a small branch of flowering wattle, our national emblem of Australia, inside a bud vase which was then placed onto the background of one of my own photographed prints of a stormy sky. By photographing the wattle from a low angle with my light source to the left, the yellow of the wattle flower stands out with a subtle shadow cast onto the bud vase. I chose Wattle flowers because they symbolise unity, resilience and the triumph of the Australian spirit.
