I am a developing artist studying an Advanced Diploma of Visual Art in TAFE in 2022. I have also attended community classes, including ART EST, and life drawing sessions with the Brandling group in Glebe.
Apart from student exhibitions, I have participated in local group shows and fundraisers such as the online Incognito art show, the annual Packsaddle Fundraising Exhibition in the New England Regional Art Museum, and just recently, Art for Floods.
My recent body of work includes paintings and drawings based on photos of early 20th century criminals and places in Sydney, exploring themes of place, poverty and injustice. I enjoy exploring a variety of media, painting with oils, acrylics or watercolours, as well as printmaking and using mixed media, which I find quite liberating.
This charcoal over gesso work was not only inspired by past narratives of injustice and personal struggle, but also by my explorations of Callan Park during COVID lockdown walks with friends and family.
