The work is of golden globe pomegranates (punica granatum) in a golden vase with an orange and a peeled lemon, a nod to the old Dutch Masters who included lemons in their art as a symbol of wealth as they were not able to grow them in The Netherlands. This is a limited yellow palette which I studied in my art course under the tutelage of the highly talented Matilda Michell.
