Sophie is an expressionist painter who understands the world through harmonious colour, line and form. As a highly intuitive painter, her paintings develop and grow from whatever is sitting on her palette. Her work is electric. Sophie has completed 2 years study at Sydney Uni. She studied Contemporary Drawing and Creative Arts in Early Childhood. Sophie lives with Down Syndrome. I see the world with kindness. I feel the world with my heart and soul. Every day is a new day. Every day offers me hope that my life ahead will have stars twinkling along my path. This artwork represents my journey to feel calm and grounded in an ever changing world. I have a passion to express myself with my paintings through my colours. Life hasn’t been easy for me. But painting allows me to be who I am. I chose these colours because water is constantly changing with light. I am the water constantly changing. Everything around me is like the colours in the painting - different every day in intensity and feel. Painting with acrylics allow me to be bold and free.
