Artists Statement
As a Glebe artist, I am drawn to the quiet beauty of everyday moments. In the Sun was born
from the simple joy of sitting in a small local caf, bathed in sunlight. I wanted to paint not just
what I saw, but what I feltthe warmth, the calm, the way light itself seems to heal.
In this work, I explore sunlight as both subject and spirit: its transparency, its shifting shadows,
its reflections and refractions dancing across surfaces. Light transforms the ordinary into
something luminous, a reminder that even in stillness, there is radiance.
Through painting, I hope to share that fleeting sensation of being held by the sunwhere the
world grows quiet, and life feels briefly, beautifully whole.
