I am an emerging artist, having recently finished my Advanced Diploma in Visual Art at TAFE. I have also enjoyed a week's summer school at National Art School with Nicole Kelly, landscape painting with Ash Frost at ARTEST, and life drawing sessions in Glebe.
Apart from student exhibitions, I have participated in local group shows and fundraisers such as the online Incognito art show, the annual Packsaddle Fundraising Exhibition in the New England Regional Art Museum, Art for Floods and exhibitions with artist friends.
I enjoy painting the most, mainly with oil, and this work, Bushfire Sky Birchgrove, reflects my interest in painting landscapes, both urban and rural, as well as concern for our out of control environmental crisis.
I painted this from a photo taken of a landmark house in Birchgrove on a day in 2013 when smoke from bushfires just to the south loomed up over the whole city causing an eerie and terrifying sunset.
Covid may have overshadowed the 2019 and 2020 bushfires
