Although this painting was inspired by a photo taken by a friend of mine, when travelling in Scotland, I think it could depict a time in the past on the Glebe foreshore. As I look at the two wrecks, I immediately wonder about their history. When were they last seaworthy, who sailed in them and for what purpose. I love the colours on the beach and the way nature is slowly taking over. There is even a little tree growing out of one of the boats. I have been painting for over 20 years on and off. I am self taught, having had no formal art education. Since I retired, I have had more time and have set up a studio at our farm. This location provides plenty of subject matter as well as a peaceful environment
